Start 2025 with gratitude

Here we are, another year. 2025. How's that possible? But I say that every year.

I struggled to write this newsletter a bit, and I had to pause and think about what I wanted to focus on. For this newsletter, this year, this life. Deep, I know.

I came up with gratitude. I feel like gratitude can help me during the good times and the bad.

One of my 2025 goals is to wake up and start my day with a moment of gratitude, and end the day with gratitude as well.

Share gratitude

I've also been trying to share my gratitude.

Now, we all know that hairstylists are also therapists sometimes. Which I love, and I truly am never judging. We all have our own stories, and it helps to hear other perspectives. I had someone recently tell me a story about their relationship, and it made me feel so appreciative of my relationship and my partner in crime.

So I told my husband, Mark, how much I appreciated him.

My point of the story is that sharing our moments of gratitude with others can be just as important and helpful to someone. I've said this before, but we never know what someone is going through. You never know whose day or spirit you could lift by expressing how grateful you are to have them. So I encourage you all, share the love. Share your gratitude.

New year, new software

Thank you all for your continued support. I'm especially grateful for your patience throughout the recent software changes. Phorest is where we happily landed. I'm loving all the support it gives, plus it has every report a business owner could ask for.

I have tweaked our online booking to make it as easy as possible and I think we've worked out most of the kinks. But if there's anything that isn't right on your end, please let me know. I would love to fix it if possible.

At this time, Gabriella is the only stylist that is accepting new clients. Book her while you can - she's getting pretty busy herself.

Keep in mind, too, that Susie and Jonelle don't offer online booking as it doesn't work well for them.

Cherry chocolate facial, anyone?

I hope everyone's January is going well, even with this crazy cold that we're not used to.

Check out our Valentine's special from the spa team - the Cherry Chocolate Facial. Give the gift of gratitude to yourself, your loved ones, or someone you think just needs a treat.

Thanks for your time and I hope that 2025 is whatever you want it to be. I wish you all peace and happiness.

Community Spotlight

We’re back with the monthly spotlight and kicking off 2025 with one of our own - Stephanie!

When Stephanie started working as a receptionist at Halo, she noticed how much the stylists loved what they did. She wanted to experience that for herself, so she went back to school to become an esthetician.

“I love being able to turn someone's day around with little more than the power of touch and attention,” said Stephanie. “I love working one-on-one with people and showing them that their time and energy matters. If they feel like they look "better" after our time together, then that's just a bonus!”

As we all know from the ads and influencers, skin care trends are ever-changing. This year, Stephanie wants to keep up with the new trends, but also master her techniques and skin care passions. For example, she loves giving facial massages, which reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help with lymphatic drainage, and reduce stress and tension. Stephanie plans to take a massage technique class to refine her skills and offer clients at Halo the best facial experience.

“I love the power of touch in facials and massage to help disconnect from your to-do lists, quiet the mind, and experience a moment of peace in the everyday hustle and bustle,” said Stephanie.

Stephanie specifically loves the Dermaplane facial. Dermaplane exfoliates dead skin and removes peach fuzz from your face, leaving you hydrated, smooth, and glowing. You can see the results immediately.

As we enter the thick of the winter, I asked Stephanie for some tips to keep our skin looking hydrated and healthy. She recommends ClarityRx Nourish Your Skin, a product made from 100% squalane oil. You can add it to your moisturizer to keep a glowing, dewy look all winter long.

And don’t forget your lips!

“I hate dry lips!” said Stephanie. “I definitely love and reach for the ClarityRx Daily Dose of Water lip treatment. It smells amazing and gives you a weightless shine.”

When she’s not at Halo, Stephanie likes to spend time with her husband Manny and their 2-year-old, Lucas. They especially love spending time together at the pool or beach. Outside of work goals, Stephanie wants to get back into reading this year.

During the long months of winter in New England, do something nice for yourself and have a relaxing facial with Stephanie at Halo.

You can book online or call the salon at 781-662-3400.
