Ring in the new year with a facial, spray tan, or lash series

Happy New Year, Halo friends!

2026. The year of the horse. Where I read “to move and rise with confidence. Doors open, momentum returns. You're finally walking in the direction that feels right.”

I find this feeling so true for 2026. The start of the new year is the perfect time to start out strong and confident.

Our team had a nice long break to spend time with family and friends. To recharge, reset. We had a Christmas party earlier this year and most of us said we look forward to getting back to work. Because we love it. And love all of you.

So let's get down to business. This month, Mary has some skin care tips and tricks to share in the spotlight section. Don't forget to check out the product of the month, either, where we'll highlight a new hair or skin care favorite that you can buy at a discount.

Congrats to our 12 days of Christmas giveaway winners! Redeem those prizes by the end of February. If you didn't win, don't worry, you can still take advantage of some of the awesome spa series at a discounted rate this month.

2025 was the year of the snake: You shed, released, and cleared space. What was real and true to you remained.

2026 is the year of the fire horse. Fire brings the heat, adding passion and power to your moves. Meaning you'll step forward boldly, bravely, and unapologetically.

2026 isn't about chasing. It's about arriving.

We’re kicking off 2026 featuring Mary Ianniciello, an esthetician here at Halo.

Mary has been interested in skin care, and all things beauty, since she was young. Like many of us, she struggled with acne in her teenage years. This inspired her to become an esthetician so she could help others with their skin care concerns.

One of my favorite parts about visiting the spa at Halo is how Mary walks you through each step of the process so you know exactly what service you’re getting and what the benefits are - I know I’m in expert hands. And in 2026, Mary plans to take more continuing education classes to expand her knowledge in the spa room.

If you’re just starting out with a new skin care routine, Mary recommends her “big three” products:

  1. Cleanser

  2. Moisturizer

  3. SPF

“I call them the big 3 as they are a staple in any skincare routine and your at home skincare should be built around these products,” said Mary.

The new year is a big time for the beauty industry, but that can also mean lots of misinformation about the newest skin care fads and trends. I asked Mary which skin care myth she’d want to debunk in 2026.

“A skincare myth I would love to debunk is that the “dermaplaning” razors you can purchase at Target, CVS etc. are not actually doing anything for your skin other than removing some peach fuzz,” said Mary.

You should actually use these razors to clean up your eyebrows, as they don’t give you the exfoliation and dead skin cell removal that you get from professional dermaplaning treatments.

“These razors can also damage your skin barrier by causing tiny nicks on the face that can easily lead to infection,” explained Mary. “Always visit a licensed esthetician for dermaplaning!”

Good thing we’re offering a Glow & Go facial series this month! If you’re interested in professional dermaplaning, lock in three Glow & Go facials for $180. Speaking from experience, I can say your skin will truly glow, and it’s so satisfying to see how much dermaplaning can clean up your skin.

There are, of course, some skincare trends we should all embrace this year.

“A skincare trend that is absolutely worth the hype is double cleansing at night,” said Mary.

To double cleanse, use an oil-based cleanser first to remove makeup, sunscreen, and product from your face. Apply the oil-based cleanser to a dry face with dry hands. After you rinse, you can use your regular cleanser as usual to wash away anything left behind.

“Think of it as sweeping the floor before mopping,” said Mary.

Looking for an oil-based cleanser? Check out ClarityRx’s Balm It Off, available for purchase at Halo.

The winter months can also be brutal on our skin, and extra hydration is a must.

“In the winter to help with dry skin, I always tell my clients a great option is to add a drop or two of a face oil into your moisturizer at night,” said Mary. “A great option is our Nourish Your Skin Squalane oil from Clarity that you can find on our shelves.” (psst…it’s also our product of the month!)

The spa room at Halo is a warm oasis to escape to during the winter months. If you're new to spa services like facials and spray tans, have no fear. Mary is there to help you relax and will keep you informed each step of the way.

“There is no judgement on our end ever and our goal is for you to leave feeling better than you did when you walked in the door,” said Mary.

When not at the spa, you can find Mary shopping, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with her husband and their dog, Frankie. So book your next spa appointment with Mary, or pop into Halo and try one of her recommended products. Healthy, glowing skin starts at Halo!
